While they’ll both help drivers see you when you’re running in the dark, they’re two different things. You’ll see clothing billed as either high-visibility or reflective. What to Look For High-Visibility Versus Reflective He was able to shed, er, light on the factors that go into creating reflective gear. In addition to putting these items to work, I talked shop with Mike Orton, an apparel product line manager for Brooks Running. I understand the importance of high-quality, effective reflective gear-not only does it have to make you visible to drivers, it needs to be comfortable and support your workout. I finally got it to work properly, but wow what a pain. So I was saving things to it by opening up the website and note seamlessly as a drive.

The app never worked properly and kept trying to install the wrong app. I also remembered that DropBox and my cheapo laptop did not work well together. **I found the files, all of them in Docs! It turns out I did save them all, in the OG publisher format with names docs couldn’t make sense of like UJLayout and UJV1.1 etc… I really need to lean into Google’s ability to search titles and add spaces to file names.

Annoyingly I thought I’d redundantly backed them up, only now I can’t find all of them. Most frustrating for me, I lost** the original files for Useful Journaling, including my layout file.

But now that I’ve taken a year to think and mull on it, I see a new option. But it also saw me wanting to continue with my zine efforts, while floundering on the original premise of Useful Journaling. But 2021 saw me using my journal more often than in a few previous years, and making it more of a practice again.

I spent the last year working on a series of prompts and ideas for the newest volume of Useful Journaling. I have more to say, but this post isn’t about that, not it’s about reflection. MY city attempted to hold a meeting about mask mandates, and because they were too… stupid to lock it down, anti-maskers spoke over them and drove them out for over an hour while city officials figured out how to work Google Meet. A second of a global pandemic, which is back on the rise in my area with folx still refusing to get vaccinated or to even mask up. A place where we look back on the bad and good and use that to set goals and intentions for the new year. The end of the year as we roll into the new is often used as a moment of reflection.
